• Expelling Air from the Cooling System: Air can become trapped within the engine cooling system during coolant refilling or operation. Accumulated air forms air locks, obstructing coolant circulation and causing localised poor heat dissipation. This vent pipe guides such air out, preventing localised engine overheating.
• Balancing System Pressure: As coolant heats and expands during engine operation, internal system pressure increases. After shutdown, as coolant cools and contracts, negative pressure develops within the system. • Assisting coolant return flow: On certain vehicle models, the vent pipe connects the expansion tank to the engine's cooling circuit.
