The Throttle Body Heater Outlet Hose is a critical connecting component between the engine cooling system and the throttle body, belonging to a specialized formed hose assembly. Its core function is to redirect the high-temperature coolant flowing through the throttle body back into the main circuit of the cooling system. Typically, one end is connected to the coolant outlet port of the throttle body, and the other end interfaces with the thermostat housing or a coolant distribution pipe of the cooling system.

This component is often made of heat-resistant rubber material capable of withstanding both high and low temperatures. Some products incorporate a plastic reinforcement layer to enhance anti-aging performance. The inner diameter specifications vary between 0.35 and 1 inch depending on the engine displacement of the vehicle, and it is designed with a specific bent shape (molded assembly) to match the spatial layout of the engine compartment.

Fault Repair Process

Step 1: Safety Preprocessing

Ensure the engine is completely cooled, release the pressure of the cooling system (open the expansion tank cap), and lay down a leak-proof pad to protect the engine compartment components.

Step 2: Component Replacement

Remove the clamps at both ends of the hose (specialized hose clamp pliers should be used to avoid damaging the interfaces);

Twist out the old hose, clean the residual sealant and scale from the interfaces of the throttle body and thermostat housing;

Apply coolant-compatible sealant to both ends of the new hose, install it in the original factory direction, and tighten the clamps (torque is typically 8-12 N・m).

Step 3: System Reset

Add new coolant and bleed the system, start the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature, check for leaks at the interfaces, and confirm that the water temperature gauge displays normally.
