The thermostat automatically regulates the cooling circuit path according to water temperature, enabling the engine to rapidly reach normal operating temperature after a cold start. This prevents unnecessary heat loss, thereby improving fuel economy. At low temperatures, it closes the main circuit while maintaining the secondary circuit, allowing the engine to warm up quickly. As temperature rises, it opens the main circuit for heat dissipation, preventing overheating.

Thermostat Installation Precautions:

• When installing the thermostat, ensure its sealing ring is correctly positioned and undamaged to prevent coolant leakage.
• Tighten the thermostat mounting bolts using a torque wrench to the specified torque value, avoiding excessive tightening or insufficient tightening. Undue looseness may cause coolant leakage, while excessive tightening may damage the thermostat housing.
• During installation, do not apply any lubricants to the thermostat's sealing surfaces, as this may compromise sealing performance.
• After replacing the thermostat, it is advisable to conduct a cooling system pressure test to ensure there are no leaks. Simultaneously check the coolant level and top up to the specified mark if necessary.
• After installation, allow the engine to run for a period whilst monitoring the water temperature to verify proper thermostat operation. Should abnormal temperature rises or other irregularities occur, cease operation immediately for inspection.
